Sadly, I agree. I came here after Open Salon, I blogging platform where I posted and thrived, where I found an amazing community (that luckily still keeps in touch in a myriad of ways, including the site Our Salon), where it wasn’t impossible to get noticed — even to get an Editor’s Pick, make the “cover”, or (when the site was at its high point, at least), even be cross-posted to Salon.com. Here at Medium, I’ve found it hard to find a large sense of community, though I’ve connected with a number of writers on an individual level. I hate the lack of visibility and the feeling of just not being “cool enough” to get noticed by the higher-ups. Like you, I just keep plugging on, and am glad to discover some amazing writing along the way.
